We didn't set outto start a company.

We were the ones doing the late-night training blocks. The evening rides after work. The early alarms before the sun was up. We wanted to fuel those sessions with something that actually worked, not just something that sounded good on a label. Natural for the sake of natural wasn't enough on its own. Neither was a gel that performed but read like a science experiment. We wanted both, and we couldn't find it on a shelf.

I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2023. My brother ran it the year after. Between the two of us, we went through nearly every gel and every formulation on the market, chasing the same thing: real fuel that didn't wreck our stomachs and didn't ask us to trade clean ingredients for actual performance.

So we started mixing our own. Real maple for the carbs. Sodium and potassium citrates instead of sea salt for the electrolytes. My brother Greg earned his nutrition certification and we built the formula around the exact electrolyte amounts your body needs. We never shopped on price. We went for the highest quality electrolytes we could find, and that search led us to the formula we make today, adjusted long run after long run until it held up. With proper electrolytes and a proper carb source, you can push harder in your sessions, and pushing harder is how you get stronger, faster. Empty carbs and cheap fuel sources like maltodextrin put a cap on that. You can't push as hard, so you're essentially stretching out your training block.

That formula stayed between the two of us for about a year. We weren't building a brand. We were just fuelling our own training the way we thought it should be done. Then the PRs started coming with it. Friends and family who trained beside us noticed, and they started asking us to make them a batch of their own. That's what led to everything that came next.

It got to the point where Greg decided he was going to do this for real. He knew he wanted to start the company, and he knew who he wanted to build it with. He and his fiancée Karine came to me with the idea of turning the formula into a business. Saying yes was a no-brainer. Building something like this is the only thing I've ever wanted to do, and I live by it. My sister Rachel joined to lead creative and design, and she's the reason Sève looks the way it does.

Since we launched, it's been exploding. The demand, and the clear need, for a product like this has never been more evident. We couldn't have done it without our loyal supporters, the people who truly believe natural shouldn't come at the cost of performance, or performance at the cost of natural. We appreciate every one of you, and we love the continued support. We're excited to keep building as we grow the product line. We listen to every comment, and we're going to keep growing.
